E-flections

I meet a lot of people on-line. Some I like, some I don't. Gina says the best thing about the internet is you don't have to click on that link. And yeah--she's right. I try not to go down links that annoy or piss me off, because I don't have time.

I do like going to the Emotional Structure thread, because it makes me think. (NOT about Dunne, but about people in general and how different people come at the same problem) (like a mini-Diva petri dish?) Sometimes when I really get interested or hopped up, I check out the links at the bottom of posts, and boldly go where I've never been before.

A person's blog is like a reflection. It shows more than you'd like to think. There are different templates and styles and formatting options, and whether you like Blogger or Wordpress or Livejournal play a large part in it.

Grace likes LiveJournal and Jenn likes wordpress, which shows that Grace is more intellectually oriented and likes that LJ literati style where every reply is threaded eight ways to Sunday and there are links everywhere, and it's all so damned complicated, it makes my head hurt just thinking about it. Whereas Jenn is a wordpress, which makes her a more intuitive creative sort. It's sort of the Cadillac of blog, big and comfortable with some bells and whistles. It's low-maintenance style with chromed wheels and champagne paint. Which means that Grace has a Karmen Ghia.

I on the other hand, have a Prius. It's functional, easy on the eyes, gets great gas mileage and once in a while I vacuum.

Blogging is Prius-land.

But even in Prius', you get variations. There are the gunmetal grey types like me, and the people--the parchment and little tiny wallpaper like a barrister's office? bloggers, who would get a Prius in a nice blue and hang an air freshener in the shape of a tree.

Oh...gotta bring up Unhingy. Unhingy is cool because she took a blog and totally transformed it into this "thing". Even in blog-ville you get those people with violent purple cars with silver lightning bolts. And Gwen, who is so terminally upbeat her blog simply screams, "I'm a NICE person!!!" (although I think its the flowers and happy-things)

...s'weird, because I actually own a gray Prius.

LOL!!!!! I was hardcore Blogger until Crystal and Dayna and Nonny and ...need I go on?
I admit it. I succumbed to peer pressure.
But I have to say there are things I love about Wordpress. I'd say you're right too. TOTAL right brain here.
This was fascinating, as always Cup.

Actually, AOL Journals used to be MINI Cooper/Prius Land--for me, anyway. I love me a MINI Cooper. Red. White stripes. Supposed to get great gas mileage and fit like jello just about any where. Ew-lah-lah.

Yep, I admit it. My first baby steps in the cosmos were taken in AOL-J Land. I was one of the first, one of the best known journalers (my only 15 minutes of fame).

Then AOL spammed our Journal headers, so I came to Blogspot and dang near knocked myself out from banging my forehead against the wall trying to figure out all of the HTML chit.

Now I'm just waiting to win the Lottery so I can pay someone to design me a swanky, personally-owned website with a blog.

Also, I'd buy a stretch limo and hire someone to drive me round the place. It'd be best for all concerned.

Signed,
Unhingy

I drive a Platinum Durango, which I don't suppose is terminally upbeat, is it?

(I'll let you in on a secret--I'm not really all that nice either. I'm actually quite wicked. It's a charade and all part of my plan for world domination.)
