I am two quarts low on my chocolate intake and about a gallon short on my caffeine, so in honor of stuffing and drinking myself into a happy writing mood I made brownies. And since I'm one of those people who can't leave well enough alone, I made a shortbread crust, added some kirsch syrup (because I like kirsch) and topped it off with a nice ganache.
It's...er, also been awhile since I did ganache, so I totally forgot the steps. Not that it's hard, but as my chocolate seized in the pan I totally freaked (chocolate!! Can't waste chocolate. Especially good chocolate) and ended like Luke shooting the Death star.
Use butter, Jodi. It was so totally internal dialog. Butter is a fat product and will save it...
It's just like shooting wamp rats back home.

Awesome. You'll have to call them Star Wars brownies.
The chocolate will be with you...always.
lol, Deanna. I sure hope so.
Wow, Obi Wan would be proud and tempted.
I'm about to embark on a ridiculous journey of sweet making any day now.
You sure is fancy, woman.
Obi Wan (the original Obi Wan) was hot as hell. :)
Have fun on your ridiculous journey, Jeanna. (I'm fancy 'cause I'm broke. Poor to me equals whipping out the skillz, Well off means going to a bakery, lol)
Mmmm that looks so good. I need some chocolate. I can't eat brownies without rocky road ice cream and whipped cream on top. (Blame my mother, she raised me that way.) lol
Thanks, Hailey. It's actually just my version of convenience food. I work really early in the morning and like being able to grab stuff and run.
One day...my big dream is to be able to sit and have a normal breakfast. :)
I normally don't like bakery foods. Unless they are made with real butter, no skimping, and most around here are not made with real butter. Don't speak to me of pie crusts without butter, that leave a film of stuff on the roof of your mouth. So, all hail the Skillz. They are far superior in my eyes.
And, I bombed my brownies tonight. I decided to make a cheesecake topping and I t ook it out too early. Cheesecake topping awesome-brownie underdone. Back into the oven it went where I destroyed it. :-(
Yours look utterly amazing.
lol, Eva. 'das because of the ganache. The Chocolate was with me. :)
