On my way to the Hague lecture

The idea of riding a ferry anywhere makes me want to puke. It's a boat. On the water. Like those boats that sink over in the Indian Ocean. But I really wanted to go to the Michael Hague lecture.

FIVE HOURS of Michael Hague. I am such a fangirl. I've listened to his lectures a gazillion times.

But...the lecture was on Bainbridge, which is a three and a half hour drive, or a twenty minute drive and half hour ferry ride.

...so I went to the pier.

Since there were only three sailings before the lecture started, I wanted to leave early. Guess everyone else had the same idea.

It was cold, and the fog hadn't quite burned off.

...but no matter what, Seattle is a gorgeous city.

The ferry came in right on time.

And y'know--it was pretty okay, lol. I didn't sink, and I got there on time.

It looks pretty calm. I think you got lucky.

Glad you made it on time! Hope it was worth it. Awesome picture of the ferry, very postcard-esque.

I think I got lucky too, Alice. The idea of going up and down makes me queasy.

Kaige, everything about Seattle is postcard-like. Including the bumper to bumper traffic crawl from five am-ten am and the two-thirty pm -seven pm. Glad I live in the suburbs.

it was very worth it.

I laughed like a hyena at your last sentence.

Looks like quite the adventure! And I'm glad going was worth it for you, although I think you knew it'd be worth it before you even left, lol.

I'd think there would be some fodder there. Wonder if you could do a short murder mystery on a ferry...
