Pressure cookers and that RWA lecture

...somebody, I listened to so MANY of them, said in one of last years lectures that while most people plugged away at writing, there were these...er, weirdos...that had to have the adrenaline rush of a deadline, and worked better under pressure.

Yeah, just call me pressure-cooker.

I had until Sunday to finish out my almost-done edits, and now I have some spare time, because Laura can't fit me back into the schedule for a few days, and--I redid the bathroom. I mean, what the hell is wrong with me? I need to finish out the new ending, move Kill Velocity into Hot Contract, build a couple of bridges to have it all make sense--maybe put that firefight that I have to cut into the firefight at the temple--with a tweak to make it part of Keegan's pov before I roll on over to Jen and Kate. Yeah, not making much sense here...

But anywho.

I'm doing clothes, and just finished grocery shopping. WTF??!!

I also have exactly one chapter and a rough outline of...Drop Dead Gorgeous.. lol, it fits more than anything, and makes sense, since I always describe him as being drop dead handsome.

I find myself driving down the street (after Wal-Mart) muttering things like, "well, if Keegan's story was about how he grew up as the family-protector". I think Connor's story needs to be about how no one took him seriously. He's handsome, he's smart, he's former Delta Force. Which makes him a damned skilled operator. BUT, none of that means squat compared to his looks.

Candy's suggestion also got me thinking--I was going to have Connor fall in love with an average looking girl, BUT--what if she has the same problem? What if no one can see past her face to the person underneath. What if she's freaking Asian? What if she's got that whole Lucy Liu thing going? What if she has that whole overly protective Asian family, nice-girl thing happening to her on a regular basis, with all the attendant--you need to marry a doctor/dentist--stuff?

I've gotta think about it, but I'm pretty stoked.

I love to hear anybody is selling their work and how cool is it to suggest a working title.
